Adolescent Reset

Adolescent dogs aren’t naughty — they’re learning

Adolescence is a period of huge emotional and neurological change. The Adolescent Reset is a short, structured program run over three fortnightly sessions, designed to rebuild focus, calm and clarity during this tricky stage.

This format gives dogs time to practise skills between sessions, while still receiving guided support.

Who this program is for

Ideal for dogs who:

  • Are roughly 6–18 months old

  • Have “forgotten” their training

  • Pull on lead or struggle on walks

  • Get over-excited or frustrated

  • Find it hard to focus outside the home

What we work on across the program

We don’t just focus on ‘obedience’, we work on emotional regulation and real-world skills.

Across the three sessions, we focus on:

  • Engagement and focus around distractions

  • Leash skills and calmer walks

  • Impulse control and frustration tolerance

  • Fast and enthusiastic recalls

  • Place training and learning to ‘switch off’

  • Helping dogs switch between excitement and calm

  • Clear communication between dog and handler

  • Practical strategies you can apply in everyday life

You’ll also learn:

  • Why adolescence looks the way it does

  • How to support your dog instead of battling them

  • How to rebuild skills without adding pressure
